We found Haunt in the "Free Ads" in our local paper. Someone was advertising for kittens, black, black/white, white, $20 ready April 27th. So, we called on the 9th, the first day the ad went in the paper, and went to look at the kittens. We were the first to show up to look at them, so we got the "pick of the litter". There were 2 black ones, 1 tuxedo, and 2 white ones (white like a siamese cat white, not pure white). We picked one of the solid black ones. The one with the longer fur and the deepest sea blue eyes. Such a pretty kitty. We called them back on the 23rd, to see what time on the 27th we could pick our kitty up and they said we could come get the kitten anytime, they were ready. Mama Cat had finished weaning them and they were eating dry food and drinking on their own. They were fully litter box trained too! So, over to their place we went, paid them the $20 and took our new kitty home. Spook and Shadow weren't too keen on a new kitty coming in though. Guess they saw Haunt as a threat to their home. *grin* Typical cat behavior, so it really wasn't any surprise. After a couple days of hissing at him, they have finally warmed up to him. Shadow has become his little protector and Spook seems to be taking a little longer, but she's coming around. Little Haunt went to his very first vet visit on the morning of the 25th. He's been given a clean bill of health, given his first shots, and even had his little razor nails clipped. Oh my, those little razors he had for nails were very sharp. If you click on the pictures, you can see the full size ones :) Just as with children, it's important to keep good records of your kitties health as well. It certainly comes in handy, so that you know EXACTLY when their boosters are due. Contrary to popular belief, kitties need to get boosters too, not just dogs. Amazing how many folks don't realize that kitties need shots too. Shots are not just a dog thing, and they are just as important for kitties as they are dogs. Along with Haunt's shot records below, we will also be listing all his vet visits too. At least this way if we should misplace the papers, we'll have it all here too, and could easily print it out to take with us to the vet. :)
